Privacy Policy for Ballpark Score

Ballpark Score ("the App") is a standalone Wear OS application developed by ExplrLabs to provide live baseball scores, schedules, and game updates. This Privacy Policy outlines how data is handled by the App.

1. Information Collection and Storage

Ballpark Score does not collect, transmit, or store any personally identifiable information (PII).

All user preferences—such as your followed MLB teams, team display order, and pinned favorite team—are saved locally on your Wear OS device using local Android preferences (SharedPreferences). This data never leaves your watch and is completely deleted if you uninstall the App.

2. Network Activity and External APIs

To provide real-time scores and game information, the App connects to public endpoints over the internet:

  • MLB Stats API: To retrieve live game scores, schedules, linescores, and player stats.
  • MLB Media Content: To download static player headshot images.

The App does not pass any user identifiers or personal tracking metrics to these services. However, requests sent to these public servers are subject to standard HTTP logging (e.g., IP address and request headers) by the respective API hosts.

3. Device Permissions

The App requests the following permissions solely for core functionality:

  • INTERNET: Required to fetch live game data and player images.
  • WAKE_LOCK: Used briefly by background workers to update Tile and Complication data on your watch face.

4. Analytics and Advertising

Ballpark Score contains no advertisements, no tracking cookies, and no third-party analytics SDKs.

5. Children's Privacy

Because the App does not collect personal information of any kind, it complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

6. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in app functionality or legal requirements. Any updates will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
